Spanish isn’t Spain’s only official language; Catalan, Galician, and Basque are also nationally recognized languages. Spanish is the most widely spoken language, while Catalan is predominant in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, Galician in Galicia, and Basque in the Basque Country and parts of Navarre.

Spain boasts an impressive 45 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including national parks, cathedrals, and historic cities such as Alhambra and the works of Antoni Gaudí, like Park Güell. It is the third largest in the world.

Every year, on the last Wednesday in August, the quiet Spanish town of Buñol hosts La Tomatina - the world's largest tomato fight. Over 150,000 kilos of over-ripe tomatoes are used in the food fight and thousands of locals and tourists take part in the chaos. What started as an impromptu tomato throwing during a parade in Buñol back in 1945 has become a cherished annual tradition.
